Replaces the discontinued Models 4120B, 4120SB, 4919 and 86RAC. Wiring harness and communication protocol is the same across models (i.e. a 4120B will talk to a 9120B). When replacing an older detector, only the mounting bracket needs to be changed.

The BRK Brands, Inc. Cat. Nos. 9120 and 9120B are wire-in, 120V AC 60Hz single and/or multiple station smoke alarms specifically designed for residential and institutional applications including sleeping rooms of hospitals, hotels, motels, dormitories and other multi-family dwellings as defined in standard NFPA 101. Models 9120 and 9120B comply with UL217, CSFM, NFPA 72, HUD, FHA and other agencies that model their codes after the above agencies. They meet building codes where AC and AC/DC with Silence smoke alarms are required. The alarms are interconnectable with up to 18 devices, of which 12 can be smoke alarms.

BRK9120B Review

I purchased six of these new detectors to replace our older models (86RAC's) that were failing and alarming at random intervals. Installation was simple and our existing 120v plugs snapped right in with no fuss, but the units also come with new plugs that you can wire yourself if needed. The included mounting rings allowed for a wide variety of screw positions, which can be handy if you are replacing older models. I highly recommend TCLifeSafety.

Smoke alarms

Came very well boxed. Exchanged the face plates about in about 10 minutes for 4 of them and plugged in and tested per instructions. As of now very well satisfied.

Excellent product

I replaced 2, 86RAC units with this unit and it was a plug in with 2 mounting screws loosened to change base.

great service

We just bought a house and the smoke detectors were all several years out of date. Quickly we searched online to find a replacement product. The ones installed were out of date and no longer produced. We found this item listed as a replacement product. We ordered it online and it was delivered the next day. Everything attached easily. Very good experience!
