It is critical to make sure the wire or cable you use is suitable for your application.

• manufacturer's requirements
• occupancy type
• ensuring the cable you choose has the correct ampacity to carry the connected load(s) without a voltage drop that exceeds the limit for the type of circuit or device, on both normal and emergency/secondary power.
